Alex uses whispering gallery mode sensor arrays to probe fundamental questions of diffusion and transport through thin films. Current projects focus on using surface-initiated atom-transfer radical polymerization to produce polymer brushes on the microring platform for enhanced detection of toxins.
When not in lab, Alex enjoys ballet and is a published poet, but is less pretentious than that description makes her sound.
